Electrifying playing

Re: Electrifying playing

The perfect way to cut through all that bothersome noise from the punters and egg shakers.

Re: Electrifying playing

At least he’s not using a capo.

"At least he’s not using a capo."

Now that you’ve mentioned it, yes, it sounds much more agreeable.

Re: Electrifying playing

Technical ability no doubt but to me it sounds dreadful as he murders the tune.

Re: Electrifying playing

I’ll practice ITM on an electric mandolin sometimes because it takes a lighter touch and I can practice quietly for hours without feeling muscle aches and such, but I’ve never felt compelled to share it with anyone. I don’t even plug it in.
The amp settings are such that I had a difficult time distinguishing the melody and pulse of the tune and as a result it sounded to me like a mashed banana. If you are going to have that much sustain, a much slower tune would be better.

Re: Electrifying playing

"Sounded like a mashed banana." That’s got to be the best simile ever used on this board.

Re: Electrifying playing

my brain turned into a mashed banana watching it

Re: Electrifying playing

I tried to find a pulse in there, but failed. It must be dead.

Re: Electrifying playing

I can’t imagine these new-fangled electrical instruments will ever catch on.

Re: Electrifying playing

that video made me want to rip out my eyes and stuff them in my ears

Re: Electrifying playing

The coconut shells kept in time.

Re: Electrifying playing

That sounded so much better when Gary Moore and Scotty Gorham used to do it…

Re: Electrifying playing

Yes, that would indeed cut through all that bothersome noise,,
And I would also have a sore head along with the punters.
My son use to play one of them every morning, then he got a job Thank Feck. Now is only the weekend I have to get through !
jim,,, : )

Re: Electrifying playing

Calls himself shreddemon. Certainly shredded the tune.

Would you welcome him/her to your session ?

Re: Electrifying playing

Re: Electrifying playing

I could spend a wet afternoon wandering round his left arm?

Re: Electrifying playing

It can be done. If anybody in central Scotland has heard Ian "Stretch" Macfadyen playing Scottish music on the electric guitar you’ll know what I mean.

Re: Electrifying playing

haha! "sounds like a mashed banana" haha! thats funny. i’m sooo stealing that from you.
