O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

Who is the fiddler on the cover? Really familiar face but I thought he was Scottish.

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

Isn’t that Scott Skinner?

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

Martin Hayes…

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

At first glance I thought it was Daniel Thorpe, but I don’t think it is him, I think it’s just the hair.

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

Definitely Martin Hayes , was that a perm?

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

No, it’s either Scott Skinner or Nathaniel Gow.

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

I thought it was Brian May…..

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

110% sure it is Martin Hayes

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

It could be Noel Redding, mind you….

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

It’s Michael Jackson.

I meant Noel Redding playing Purple Hayes.

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

Kenny G.

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

It’s the image of my Aunt Nora, but then again so is Martin Hayes.

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

Kenny G

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

I’d say it was Martin Hayes but Jack might be thinking of Jamie Ross who used to frequent the Edinburgh sessions etc and played fiddle in bands here too….

I’m not sure where he is these days.

"If you check out this video at …3.24…, you will see the likeness."

Looks like Aunt Nora indeed.

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

Yup, that’s who I had in mind.

You’d think whichever of them had that face and hair first would have registered it, like this:

Re: O’Brien Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music

That man’s not Martin Hayes. I’m prettier than that man.
