I've been asked to make a CD & I have some things in mind, but I wanted to bounce it off thesession.org for some more ideas.
Just to give you a general outline of what I'm going to do; it's going to be solo fiddle with piano, guitar or zouk (not at the same time) backing.
A few tunes that I'm pretty much sure I'm going to do are:
Col Frazer's
Sweeny's Dream/Merry Harrier's/Ballinasloe Fair
The Grey Goose/Tell Her I Am
Forget Me Not/Bunch of Keys
& a few others
So, what tunes would you folks suggest, any favs?
There's some pretty warty clips of my shtuff here http://www.myspace.com/mediatorstage
(just look through for the fiddle vids)
contradiction
o'connor donn's
tommy peoples reels
moving cloud
jennie welcome to charlie
queen of may
kitty in the lane
providence (one of your sumissions here, I see)
kilmovee jig
imelda rolands
Just choosing some more interesting tunes imho you may like . good luck!
I was thinking of the Queen of May, I forgot about the Providence - but that's def going to make it on. Jennie's Welcome is too hard for me, I should work on that one.
Never was Piping so Gay.
The Orange Blossom Special. (as played "Irish style" by Frankie Gavin
I wish I never met you. (Composed by Andy McGann)
Larry O'Gaff
Paddy Fahey's no. 236, in the key of G mega-minor.
Thinking of recording... Tune suggestions?

The clips are here:

The Mediator Stage is a music series that I help with. It's mostly community based but we've had a few Irish concerts.
