Anyone know a song and/or air whose first line is "[A] lark in the clear air..."

A lark in the clear air
came one day to me side
and asked what would it take
to make him me bride

so I told him "dear lark,
it never would work
since you might be a queer lark"
and he left with a jerk...

or something like that...?
