Durty's

This is def one of the best sessions in sydney, Its run by a German piper who lived in Dublin for 10 years, the standard is high and the tunes are great, there is always someone learning some cranking new tunes. Its also very friendly. Some great musicians come along and its great fun, only problem is, Mondays at work seem to be a bit seedy:)

Forgot to say it starts around 4:30 - 5pm, but get there on time if you want to get a good seat.

Durty Nellie's

Does Kenny fae Foula still go there?

# Posted on February 3rd 2004 by Bren

Durty Nelly's

Yes he does but I haven't seen him there in a few weeks so maybe he's on holiday or something. The information bb gave is now outdated. We now start earlier, about 3pm, and go on till about 6 or 6.30. This is the only regular weekly trad session in the city at the moment, although there are other sessions that run fortnightly. These are arranged via group e-mail, so if you find yourself in Sydney and want to know what's on, contact me through this site and I'll be glad to help out.

Aiiieeeee!!!! Beebs, talk to them AT ONCE about the session pix slideshow on that web site!!

What's with the djembe and the didge? Sydney's international reputation will be ruined!!!

# Posted on June 14th 2005 by Tish

Yeah - and you notice not one photo of me, I mean - loads and loads of people who are passing through sydney, djembe and didge players, but not actually one of me. And I was doing the gig! Hmmm, I wonder what thats all about ;)

# Posted on June 14th 2005 by bb

Yes, I noticed you and Dowsie artfully dodged the camera.

# Posted on June 14th 2005 by Tish

Not saying that I want to have a photo, it'd be pretty scary - but jeez - a djembe player???....ugh

Re: Sunday session in Durrty's.

Welcome back Ben. Yes it's still 2. You missed a great session last week. I've been working every Sunday recently so I have had to miss the session, but I'm putting my foot down and getting more days off so I can have a life. See you there.

Flute player

Hi Ben.
is there anyone at the Durty Nelly's session who plays a flute and might be interested in giving lessons?

Lovely Session ..

I really enjoyed this session as a visitor who rarely gets a chance to join in a session. I was really made feel welcome. Great music and atmosphere. I hope to come again! Mark

Durty Nelly's survival tunes
