The Greenwood Side

This is an easy pipe march I heard so I wrote it down put it here.

Chords

Here are the chords we use to play this, although the sheet music we have is listing it as a reel, 4/4 time.

The tune appears as a quickstep in David Glen’s Collection of Highland Bagpipe Music, Book 1 (c 1876).
It also appears as a 2/4 march in later pipe books. It is attributed to a "Donald Mackenzie". This is unlikely to be the same "Pipe Corpl Donald McKenzie" (Seaforth Highlanders/ PM in Cameron Highlanders) who has a tune printed in Glen’s Book 15 , as he would have been about a year old when Book 1 was published!

Whether the tune has any connection with the ballad "The Cruel Mither", which also has the "Greenwood Side" in other title variants is open to speculation.
