This video on youtube gave me an awesome waltz that Jerry Holland plays. Can someone please help me figure out the notes for fiddle. Link:

“George Wilson: Northern Melodies - from New England, Quebec, Cape Breton, Scotland & Shetland”

Having enjoyed and danced to George’s music in the past, I did try to chase up a copy of his CD which includes several of his waltzes, including this one, but, alas, no luck, not yet anyway. However, because it should be linked to this and it deserves a place on the database here I’ve added it.

I’m pretty sure there was also a printed collection…

George’s cd

Try Front Hall Records again for George’s cd. They still have some stuff there at the Old Songs building…Or get it directly from George. You know his old joke about his million seller….he has a million of them in his cellar.

thanks Vonnie, you’re a sweetheart. I just hope he doesn’t mind me doing this transcription and adding it here. When possible I do try to ask beforehand. My memories of him are that it’s probably OK., fingers and toes crossed. ;-) Having over extended my allowance, I may have to add it to the Christmas list now, having just recently purchased a new instrument. :-D

“Front Hall Records” / “Andy’s Front Hall”

I’ve just visited Andy’s and it seems he has several recordings as "Northern Melodies". :-D

‘He’ meaning George of course… ;-)

But, to be clear, not the "Northern Melodies" this tune was/is on…

Check your e-mail

I’ll pass on George’s e-mail to you…you can dicker with him.

Thanks Vonnie, appreciated…

The email has been sent… ;-)

I never did hear back… :-/
