(But he notates quite a few definite jigs in 12/8… so…)

Tear The Callies
Some jigs notated in 12/8, are so notated on account of the phrasing. Some players would describe a jig to be in 12/8 if the phrases run across the bar lines and the phrasing fits. Perhaps players who think like that are just being pedantic, me, well I’m not qualified to pass judgment :~))
