Continuing to sing the praises for this lovely recording. This one is familiar, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there is another name for it out there somewhere… I’ll add a slightly different take on it later.

“Tara Connaghan & Derek McGinley: The Far Side of the Glen” ~ track 4, barndance 2 of 3
I did do some searching, including for alternate names. I will be adding the other two barndances from this set later.
Hi, ceolachan. I was about to post this barndance!
I know why this tune sounds familiar to you. It has a lot in common with the second half of Pearl O’Shaughnessy’s Barndance: http://thesession.org/tunes/4321
You’ve transcribed Danny O’Donnell’s version in G.
Right you are slainte, and more work to do cleaning up another mess in transition. Thanks for the direction, and this lovely recording too. This is that ‘related’ it should almost be in the ‘comments’, but ~ ;-)
Whew! :-D
In case anyone wonders, "Pearl O’Shaughnessy’s Barndance" is an amalgamation of two 32 bar barndances…
“Derek McGinley & Tara Connaghan: The Far Side of the Glen” ~ From the notes for the CD:
Track 4: Patrick Doherty’s Barndances
"~ The second tune was widely played in the locality at one time but it in more recent times has become associated with Joe Byrne of Glenmalin, Glencolmcille through the playing of John Byrne. ~"
