“Y Lancers” / “The Lancers” ~ danced in Cymru/Wales as well 8-)

A different transcription of this can be found in the following:

"Llewelyn Alaw: Llyfr Alawon Poced/Pocket Tune-book"
Edited and arranged by Robin Huw Bowen
Gwasg Teires, Aberystwyth, 1990

Tune #12: Y Lancers / The Lancers ~ single jigs like this one were popular for the sets of quadrilles, including the one known as ‘The Lancers’… I’ll add an approximation of Robin’s take for comparison, minus his chords for it.

Correction ~ I’ll add an approximation of tune transcription from the manuscripts of Thomas David Llewelyn/ Llewelyn Alaw, 1828 - 1879, held in Yr Llyfrgell Genedlaethol o Gymru / The National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth, NWL 329 - 337 ~ for comparison, minus Robin’s chords for it.
