East Village Days

First tune in ‘Doc Holliday’s’ from La Nua by Lunasa

grouping notes

Hey Tom, just a little suggestion… your ABCs would be much neater if you’d group the notes in a way that match the rhythm and time signature; even if the note values add up correctly in each bar. Now I don’t know the tune, but just rearranging the dots accordingly would be more like this…

BcB GEE EGG | BcB GAA dBB | GcB GEE EGG | BcB GAA AAG :|
FEE E2G FGE | BAA GAB dBB | GEE E2G FGG | ABd eBB ~G2F |
DEE E2G FGE | BAA GAB dBg | fee e2d Bde | A3 GBB ABd ||

Tried to write down the abc a bit more consistent. I had the impression Tom wants to show the rythm and emphasis correctely, but it is not very easy to understand like that. When showing the strict 9/8 pattern with a few ties the base pulse and the syncopes are vsisble.
Not sure my version is correct as I have heard the tune, but I have no access here to it.

The transcription is perfect but I think my amendment might be laid out a bit better according to the natural rhythm of a slip jig.
