Planxty Henry McDermottroe

This is the tune which has been running around my head for days. I heard it on Marcas O’Murchu’s album.

Henry MacDermott Roe

This is the first of three airs composed by the blind Irish harper Turlough O’Carolan (1670-1738) all titled "Henry MacDermott Roe" (Tune number 78, page 66, Ossian Publications - Complete Collection of Carolan’s Irish Tunes)

Henry MacDermott Roe (1st air)

Here is the tune according to Ossian Publications:

Thanks for a follow-up.

Henry McDermott Roe

Beautiful tune. I’ve heard it around now and then, and just recently at a session, and thought I might find it by going through The Session’s list of waltzes in G. I had a hunch it would turn out to be a Carolan tune - it’s gratifying to be proved correct!
