On his Iron Man Album.I think he follows it with a tune posted here as Sweeney’s Dream: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/1459
Tommy Peoples Plays…
Lovely reel.Great fun playing it.
Same ep’homonymous name:
(Master) Crowley’s: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/281 is a very different reel, in B minor.
Whenever I hear it, this cheerful wee number immediately conjures up Cathal McConnell live for me! It’s a smashin vision so it is!
News to me….
I’ve never come across "Master" Crowley’s in Bm. Usually E dorian these days, but I first heard Roy Gullane of the "Tannahill Weavers" play it on banjo in the 1970s in D dorian, and that was the common key for it in those days, in the UK, anyway.
As for this particular "Crowley’s", I recommend the version recorded by Finbar Furey, and also Matt Molloy as a solo on one of the Chieftains records, I seem to remember.
