Another Paddy Kelly tune

I’m posting this in faith. The abc navigator is refusing to give me sound at the minute so I cannot play the midi file back but I think it’s ok.

I’m surprised this tune has not been posted. It’s quite a common tune. Joe Burke recorded it on his "galway’s own" album but in a different version. He used low notes on some bars for accordion variations. So did Finbarr Dwyer in a different setting again. For that reason (since not all of us are box players) I sourced Vinnie Kilduff as a more accesible version and this is where most of the tune has been derived from, though not all.

It is also played in G mix (James Kelly/Paddy O’Brien, Kevin Crehan). Kevin Crehan played a different bars 3 and 4 in the B part though. He also called it "The Daisy Field" but I think that is a mistake because there is another Paddy Kelly tune (similar in structure but that’s it) with that title and Crehan got them mixed up. Other than that, I’ve only heard it referred to as Paddy Kelly’s and wonder if there is indeed a more definite title.

Another recording can be found by Paddy Carty on his album with Mick O’Connor on banjo accompaniment.

Claire Keville and John Weir recorded a little different version. Still the same tune, though.

The G# isn’t right, 2nd. part

Thanks for posting. Lovely tune. But the G# is the second part should be a natural.

If the G# is alright for Paddy Carty, it’s alright for me.
