The Dirt on the Floor
After a long bout of listening to Tommy Potts way too much I came up with this hornpipe. At the time I was sharing an apt. with a few other artists & musicians & let's just say our interior decorating was not on the par of Martha Stewart's. This tune came fully at once like venus on a seashell, when I was done with it I looked around & decided to sweep the floor & do the dishes. As I stared at the dirt on the floor. I must've come up with it at least five years or so ago, but I come back to it often & I think it's one of the better ones I've come up with. I often follow it up with the Peacocks Feather (the major one) or the Fairy Queen. Hope you guys get a kick out of it.
