The Souvenir
I got this tune from Eamonn Cotter’s CD “Trad Music from County Clare”. It’s a tricky hoor for the flute with that 3rd octave. I used to play it quite a bit, but no one else picked it up so the tune has dropped into my passive repertoire. Of course, Eamon does a great job on it – very accurate, nimble-fingered playing. It’s been a while since I learned so it may have undergone some changes, some northern simplification of Eamonn’s complexities. Those who have the CD can check.

This is an incredible tune, Mr. Note, thanks. The A part reminds me of Martin Mulhaire's #9, a reel, but another favorite of mine. I know I'm not the person you'd hope to hear this from, but I'll do my damnedest to pick it up on my contertina and play it at you.
