Another puddy tat special

We just spent a lovely weekend up in Montana at Aimee and Richard's. Lots of friends and new faces. Jane Walsh came with us and we had any amount of fun; Jane had a very educational time, including learning about jackalopes, the State Highway Patrol, the difference between policemen and sheriffs, and, most significantly on our return trip home, that the ranch dressing at an Arby's is not to be trusted.

So Will's written a tune for Jane. Notice the first three notes. :)

oops, not Montana, I meant Wyoming. :)

Unh! ~ Just thinking about it... :-S

Arby's ranch dressing and all that might have followed...

# Posted on May 7th 2007 by ceolachan

ooops, ignore the "2" in the A part.

It was a real pleasure to meet Jane and share some tunes. It doesn't surprise me at all that she found it difficult to stomach Wyoming's roadside "cuisine."

Hope the tunes "brings up" only fond memories of a fun weekend.

She refuses to take the gorp back that she left in our car, though. ;)

So how should this thing be played, Will...at a galloping pace? *smirk*

In the loo?

# Posted on May 7th 2007 by ceolachan

I'm already putting it through transpositions... ;-)

# Posted on May 7th 2007 by ceolachan

I think it comes out best at it's own pace. Although once you reach a certain tempo, there's just no stopping it.

LOL! Nice, Will...nice...

But I think that this may be one of those tunes where the alternate names are the best part of the crack... :)

Letting the Ranch Go

Here it is in a perhaps more session-friendly Em, but you lose the "GAG" tag at the start of the A part.

Heh, I love that this tune has been added to only one tunebook so far....

...urp....

# Posted on May 8th 2007 by Will CPT

hey, I already have the pdf. :)

# Posted on May 9th 2007 by Zina Lee

8-)

Hey, whadayuhwant? I've ripped off the ABCs and given it a go in at least two other keys... I've already given you enough positive feedback to keep you going on adrenalin for at least another decade. What's a little click going to do, eh? Besides, I'm not completely sure about this one, gagging on it to start... ;-)

# Posted on May 9th 2007 by ceolachan

Oh, alright, if you are feeling a little blue and the numbers will make a difference to your day, I've gone ahead and added it. Go on Zina, make his day...

# Posted on May 9th 2007 by ceolachan

No, no, you took me all wrong. I *genuinely liked* that no one was rushing to add it to their tune books.

One of the first tunes I ever penned was called the Giardia Jig (in Bm of course), and it proved as popular as the disease....

:o)

Now you've done it--we're up to three, and I'm not one of them.
;o)

LOL -- right you are, 'c'!

# Posted on May 10th 2007 by Zina Lee

rofl -- who came up with "Da Uppity Bwa"? That's hilarious!

I think my other fav is "Old Ranch, You Have Killed Me" which was Jane's original...

# Posted on May 10th 2007 by Zina Lee

:-/ ~ hmmmm?

# Posted on May 10th 2007 by ceolachan

OK, I had to add it to the my book - partially because I learned it (and am hoping to see if it elicits a particular response in Jane next time I play with her), and partially because it's a great tune!

I learned it in the original D minor (the saddest of all keys). No reason to make it "session friendly", it's not SUPPOSED to be friendly.

And I thought we could maybe call it "Up Casper"
