Here is The Laurel Tree, as requested by Squeezebox. This version comes from Henrik Norbeck's collection. I should say that it is slightly different from the version I have - bar 4 of the 1st and 2nd parts can be played: BAGB A (3Bcd .

I have also heard a couple of diffferent versions of the 2nd part:

Why didn't you give the version you have in the first place? If we wanted the swedish version we could always look on Norbeck's site.

The first part of this tune is virtually identical to that of Scottish tune Lochiel's Awa tae France. I might post it in a few days.

The Laurel Tree

In the sleeve notes of Mary MacNamara's second solo album, this reel is mentioned as "a development from the old tune Scatter the Mud." I wonder why I haven't realised that myself.
