Advice for Willy Clancy Week

Advice for Willy Clancy Week

This is probably a question asked before…. This year approx 10 of us are meeting up for Willy Clancy for the weekend. Last year we had a group of four and parked the Cheroke up next to the graveyard and kipped for the night (must say the neighbours were very quiet) but since this year there is a bigger crowd I think it would be advisable to possibly camp. I have heard that there is a camping site but was advised not to stay there. The festivals in 3 odd weeks and I think we could be a bit late to book accommodation so camping would be the easiest but where!!!!????

Re: Advice for Willy Clancy Week

In 2003 there was a camping site opposite the mill theatre building where they hold the Ceilis, but don’t leave anything valuable in your tents (especially instruments), as theft is rife (or was in 2003).

You may need to book for that as it looked pretty busy.

Re: Advice for Willy Clancy Week

To be honest I’d say our best bet is to just find somewhere or maybe go to Spanish Point or something.

Re: Advice for Willy Clancy Week

Out past the Armada on the Coast road there is a field for camping, also the White strand has a camp site. Both of these are a litte far out of town for walking.

Problem is I have the car, but don’t think I would like to have to blow into the bag for An Garda Síochána!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ;- )

Re: Advice for Willy Clancy Week

There are loads of Taxis about over the last few years, so there is no problem getting in and out of miltown at the end of a night of tunes and pints!!
