The first one is a Tommy Peoples composition called The Jocelyn Tree, or Jocelyn’s Jig. The setting here is a little different to the way Tommy plays it on the ‘Fiddlesticks’ compilation of Donegal fiddle music. He also recorded it very differently as a waltz on the ‘Quiet Glen’ CD.

Owen,
Is this a coincidence?
I’m only after posting this just yesterday!

I love that clip, and thanks for sharing your lovely composition with us.
How long ago did you compose that jig? I used to play it with a fiddle/banjo player Phil Nolan from Knocknaboula, near Shanagolden W.Lim’ck, probably 20 years ago. I hadn’t heard it before or since - until I stumbled across it on that clip.
Best Wishes,
Danny Mackay (my real name)

Hi lads thanks for the relies, thanks Dave for the name of the 1st jig. and thanks Danny for the nice comments, there is a little bit about the tune on my members section of this site.
Hopefully (If I can find a very very good Experienced traditional Guitar player) I might be able to put a CD of my tunes together;
Anyone in Dublin/ Meath /Kildare interested??
Thanks again, Owen Hackett
P.S there are six of my tunes on my website which I have to update one of these years
