Luthiers in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Luthiers in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Hi, I wonder if any one could help me find a luthier who would set up my Mandola. It’s hand made buy Rob Armstrong and I have never played another instrument which is better. Basically I need someone who is very trusted and will be able to do a first rate job on it.

Would any one be able to help?

Cheers me dears

Hi szifty
there is a guy called Tony Black in Sunderland who makes superb mandolins and mandolas. He’s also very good at setting up instruments. He even made a hardenger mandolin, which I owned for a while but it’s now in the IOM.
His tel no is 0191 5480496 and I would recommend and guanrantee his work to anyone.
cheers Tom

I’m just after coming in from a session with Paul Archer tonight where he was playing one of his own jazz-style guitars; a beautifully balanced instrument. Must recommend him to any budding musician desirous of a top-class instrument at low-cost prices. Go for it, trust me.

I am still a Luthier as previous comment and teacher. My website is now archerguitars.co.uk. I also play the fiddle and guitar and compose tunes in the Celtic Tradition. Still going to Monday night sessions in Durham.
