Nice waltz

Nice waltz

I heard this played by one of the box players at the "Accordion Hell" concert at the Celtic Connections Festival in 2008 (I forgot who), and was hoping one of you guys might know its name.

Any ideas?

Re: Nice bouree

Oh yes, also comes in the blood ~ it’s a bouree, not a waltz…

Another nice listen can be found here ~

Sorry but I couldn’t find if there was a ‘named’ composer for this one, but have a sneaking suspicion I did know one… Let’s hope someone else can fill in that blank…

Yes, it is a lovely tune… It also makes a brilliant set, as you would have already heard, with ~

"Les Poules Huppees" / "Crested Hens"

C: Jean Blanchard

Re: Nice waltz

Wow!

More information than I’d hoped for. I owe you a virtual beer, ceolachan.

😉

Re: Nice waltz

And it’s definitely not breton - Britanny does not have any bourées.

I don’t know enough to say what kind of bourrée Jean intended this tune to be - sounds like it would work well as a bourrée from Auvergne to me.
