Re: heavy jig ID help?

Hey there Browndog…which tune do you play first ??

Re: heavy jig ID help?

From reading the comments (of Phantom Button) I’m going to guess "Woods" 1st followed by "Up & About"

" The New Road "
Charlie Piggot And Gerry Harrington
15. "The Woods Of Old Limerick" /"The Walls Of Liscarroll" (aka ~ "Up And About In the Morning")

Thanks Aub….

Re: heavy jig ID help?

What do you mean by ‘heavy’ jig?

Re: heavy jig ID help?

Good question. What does "heavy" mean?

At any rate, yes, I play them in that order, too, for no better reason than that is the order that I learned them in (from Mike Rafferty at Catskill Irish Arts Week, 2004). Mike Rafferty did not have those titles for these tunes — he simply said that he got them from Charlie Piggott — but another friend of mine told me what they were.

Cheers.

Re: heavy jig ID help?

It’s not a *light* question. O.K.; we need a dancer over here to pontificate on this jig. Thanks in advance.
