What is a Sarny?
Can anyone decipher this tune name for me please? I’ve used translate on the net and apparently Sarny in French is Sarny in English too.
Does anyone have a meaning for this?

Although Éric Favreau says that 6/8 du Petit Sarny “is dedicated to two good friends: Tracy Pettit and Dominique Sarny”
However it seems to be a pun on an existing term
about £2
It’s a common surname in Quebec
A banjo, as in ‘chicken banjo’.
Thanks everyone!
Lots of good meanings.

On the News Quiz on R4 (BBC in UK) today, headline from the Sandwich and Deal Chronicle:
“Missing Baby Found In Sandwich”.
A story with a nappy ending.
Max
Sarny was the cabin boy who sailed with Captain Peach fuzz aboard the The Ruby Yacht of Omar Ki yam. Unfortunately he was captured by Captain Pugwash and killed during battle.
At least this is what my sister says when asked.
Yes there is a beaut version of 6/8 du Petit Sarny on
Branch-Curley-Songer - Portland Play Along Selection Disc 2
I’ve been playing along with that tune and yeah now there is another treasure I can bring out at sessions.
A sarny is a piece.
Two slices of bread, some sort of spread and a filling (optional).
…………….. also known as a chit.
Yes,a British sandwich, two slices of buttered bread with a thin filling, not an American sandwich which looks like a miniature submarine surrounded by half a square yard of greenery and would feed the average British family for a week.
One of those beautiful gentle peaceful joyful yet slightly mournful jigs.
Don’t you mean “pieceful”?
