Tunes in the Details ~ member’s compositions

I’m starting this to see who else has put their own work in their ‘details’, like here, where there are some compositions by these members to give air to ~

This is how some bright sparks have handled introducing their compositions to the site without the additional responsibility associated with the FAQs, balancing it with at least 5 traditional tunes per one’s own composition. We have had a few long runs of ‘this is mine’. The longest I can call to mind was five or six in a row before Jeremy, our webmaster, put an end to it. That wouldn’t be the first time either.

I, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I wasn’t alone in this, like finding these little pockets of melody and seeing where inspiration has taken others.

Please give additional links to your own or other session member’s compositions as given in their ‘details’? It’s these ABCs in the toolies I’m interested in here, not the ones that already exist up front. I think this is a great idea, avoiding the wrath of the webmaster and other members…

Re: Tunes in the Details ~ members’ compositions

I would put the apostrophe in the wrong place. It’s symptomatic of recent confusions… 😏

Re: Tunes in the Details ~ member’s compositions

Seems like oftentimes this one bites me in arse. So I’ll only mention a couple of tunesmiths.
52Paddy has tunes in *Details* https://thesession.org/members/19847
Kerri Brown has submitted some of her own tunes, which are not placed in the details, but can be sussed out through the links. I always love her sense of humour.
I do not write tunes but I do keep searching for members who do.

Don’t forget the inestimable and prolific Dow on

(You’ll have to scroll down a fair way to get to his numerous compositions.)

I have 3 tunes in my biog although two of them are also in the tunes section even if I was not responsible for one of them appearing there, eh Ceol.

Bogman used to have some of his own compositions in his biog but I see they are now gone. That is a shame.

Re: Tunes in the Details ~ member’s compositions

I think "estimable" ("esteem-able", I suppose) is always a compliment.

But I don’t know if "inestimable" means "super-dooper-hyper-estimable", or "not worth a second look…"

Re: Tunes in the Details ~ member’s compositions

According to my Webster, one meaning of "inestimable" (which is more or less what I meant) is "too valuable or excellent to be measured or appreciated". Next level up from "estimable".
Flattery gets me everywhere 🙂
