Belfast & environs…

Belfast & environs…

Hi! I know this is against the regulations BUT…
Most of the session info I’ve looked at is incomplete and out of date.
I’ll be staying in Bangor over the August public/ bank holiday.
Where in the Belfast/ Bangor-ish area on the Fri/ Sat/ Sun/ Mon can I get some tunes (and a decent pint!)?

Re: Belfast & environs…

P.S. I promise to leave my Stylophone, bugle and hot water bottle collection et cetera in South London!

Re: Belfast & environs…

Bring some wig glue and come to Glasgow!

Re: Belfast & environs…

Go down to Bangor Marina and blag a ride on a Yacht, over to Portpatrick for Saturday night. Tunes to be had in the Crown.

Re: Belfast & environs…

In Belfast proper, try Madden’s. Well established sessions, and I think they run all weekend. Give a call.

Re: Belfast & environs…

Have to agree Maddens or The John Hewitt on a Sat pretty good,

Re: Belfast & environs…

Fri: Fealtys 10ish, fantastic Bangor musicians
Sat: Belfast, McHughs 4ish, Hewit 6ish, Maddens or The hercules 10ish
Sun: Belf The garrick @ 3:30

Re: Belfast & environs…

skeech- the seafood menu at the Crown is quite inviting! Seafood and tunes! I’ll have to put it on the list for my session tour of the world…
Must find out if we do, indeed, know anyoine in Bangor with access to a boat of some sort!

Re: Belfast & environs…

Don’t forget the Wednesday session at the Carrick. Is there still a session at Pat’s? Also the Duke of York on Thursday evenings- great pub, great music, terrible acoustics!
