Boston two step tunes

Boston two step tunes

Any suggestions? Ronnie Cooper’s Shetland two step springs to mind, but I remember seeing it danced to marches like The Barren Rocks of Aden and the Lovat Scouts

Re: Boston two step tunes

‘Changing Partners’ was always a great favourite of mine.

Re: Boston two step tunes

The correct name for the tune in my previous post is ‘Lookin’ for a partner’ The Two Step isn’t very popular in the Irish scene nowadays but in the days of the Ceili Dance we always included it.
We often played ‘McNamara’s Band, Dear Old Donegal and ’If your‘e Irish’ and that type of thing but I prefer the tunes with a bit more body such as Ronald Cooper. I’ll sort out a few more names later.i

Re: Boston two step tunes

Andy Ross’ Two Step is a good with a few key changes and just the right length for the Military Two Step. I imagine it’d work well for the Boston as well.

Re: Boston two step tunes

Just another few that come to mind:-

The Dancing Dustman
Tobermory two step
Frank Jameson
6.20 Two Step ( the signature tune of The White Heather Club)
Heather Mixture

Re: Boston two step tunes

We find Liberty Bell always gets them stamping

Re: Boston two step tunes

Mmm!
Interesting how Frank Jamieson by Ronald Cooper ain’t a patch on Ronald Cooper by Frank Jamieson, in my opinion.

The Highland Jig is another good one for a two step, though don’t think it’s posted here yet.

Re: Boston two step tunes
