anyone know the tunings she uses, mosty on An Traidisiun Beo

i get the impression she’s gdae, or one step up, but plays tunes in unusual keys? ie not g or d

she does have at least one tune on the album she did with martin quinn where she tunes down a whole step…

She plays in GDAE tuning. But, on her albums, she sometimes tunes up (or capos up) to Eb (i.e. capo 1 or bring up a semi-tone). Also, she drops a full tone and, sometimes, unusually, a semi-tone when playing with Martin or her father, Peter.

However, as far as her fingering is concerned, it’s pretty generic and she does not have to use awkward fingering to play in the keys that are produced, hence why tuning up and down is used.
