type of box…

type of box…

just watched this :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCcyU2s-U0g

it’s quite impressive, not always my cup of tea, but I was wondering what kind of box Tim plays : it’s a 3 row, but he seems to play it like a C#D… anyone know the layout ? is it BCC#, C#DD# or maybe like some i’ve seen, C#DG (or yet another one ?)?

Re: type of box…

Doesn’t he usually play DG? In which case it’s likely that its an ADG

Re: type of box…

Could be Eb/Bb/F whihc is common in Norteno and other Latin American music where 3 rows boxes are favoured.

Re: type of box…

Thanks, when I got the vid, the text didn’t appear. So it’s an “application” of a box of the scottisch type, with bisonoric basses instead of the unisonoric ones people like Jimmy Shand play (but his is BCC#)

Re: type of box…

Never mind transposing, D/D# is very worthwhile in its own right, inc “magic notes” D and G.
