Tin whistler in the making?

Tin whistler in the making?

My 13 month old son was playing quietly with some toys, so I got a tin whistle out and started playing “Tarbolton”. He immediately crawled over to me, took the whistle out of my hands, put the mouthpiece into his mouth and began going “ooo-ooo-ooo” and smiling gummily as if to say “anything you can do, Daddy”.

I had to take it off him when he started bashing the top of the coffee table with it, though. It’s only an Oak - the whistle, that is; I have no idea what the coffee table’s made of.

Did he tongue or cut the ooos?

I hate to say it, but if he moved on to bashing the table with it, he might want to play bodhran….

Re: Tin whistler in the making?

LOL! He bashes the table with everything, so maybe he’ll become a carpenter…

Re: Tin whistler in the making?

It’s a sign of possession 😉.

Re: Tin whistler in the making?

Be careful though, it might be a sign of a bodhran player, or maybe even bongos, or a djembe. You might want to keep an eye on that.

Re: Tin whistler in the making?

Next time he’s playing quietly, don’t play the whistle. Gather rosebuds…
