Mickie’s hit recording of "The March Hare" was the first music in a traditional idiom I can remember hearing, probably on the BBC Home Service. That would have been in 1957. There are very few pieces of music that have had such a lifelong effect on me.

Thanks Jack, I play both The March Hare and Ronnie Cooper’s tune Mickie Ainsworth but had never known who Mickie Ainsworth was.

RIP Mickie Ainsworth - I was an admirer from way back.

Great player - Does anyone have any tunes that he wrote?
