Angelina Carberry - wonderful banjo playing

Angelina Carberry - wonderful banjo playing

I’ve been listening to a new CD: Angelina Carberry and Martin Quinn. If you’re interested in hearing some really great music, give this a listen. Angelina’s banjo playing is so tasteful - not simple, but not over the top either. Her use of ornamentation seems particularly thoughtful.

BTW, I don’t benefit in any way from sales of this CD; I just want to call attention to a CD that probably will not get a lot of media attention.

One question - does anyone know what kind of banjo Angelina Carberry uses?

Thanks.

Re: Angelina Carberry - wonderful banjo playing

I have Peter Carberry’s album with Angelina and John Burke and its fantastic. I’ll definately be hunting down the new album, didn’t even know there was a new one out so ‘Thank you’

Re: Angelina Carberry - wonderful banjo playing

I found this great recording through Claddagh records’ website. My collection of ITM is full of flute recordings, so good to discover and purchase it. I got it last week and have been listening to it so many times, but I never grow sick of it.

Re: Angelina Carberry - wonderful banjo playing

"Angelina plays an oakwood 17 fret banjo made in Leeds" says Martin Quinn who i emailed via the reeltrad site.
