Planed Walton’s

Planed Walton’s

This night I planed my Walton’s Mellow. I had it in my bag as usually when I’m heading for a bender, didn’t use it anyway, and now that I fetched it again, it’s flat as pancake. Don’t know how this could happen. However, I roughly brought it to shape again with pliers, and it sounds better now. Result!

Re: Planed Walton’s

Empty your bag before you put it through the mangle.

Re: Planed Walton’s

Insert a wooden dowel with only a slightly smaller diameter, and carefully hammer against the wood to return it to spherical section.

Re: Planed Walton’s

Street cred!

Re: Planed Walton’s

Well thanks for the dowel-tip, but after the pliers workaround it’s already fine again. The sound is even better than before, tending to be a bit flat though (muahahaha!). But maybe a dowel in the whistle would protect it against future mangle-actions…!

Re: Planed Walton’s

To me, planed means to use a tool with a blade in it to shave something down flat. But somehow, I don’t think that is what you mean. And does bender mean a drinking binge?
Sometimes, concepts just don’t cross the pond well.

Re: Planed Walton’s

I don’t understand it either, Al, so I wouldn’t say it’s to do with things crossing the pond.
