It was composed by John McEvoy, fiddle player from Birmingham, England.

The Spotted Dog

Re: looking for the name of this A major jig

Great tune, The Spotted Dog. Apparently named after a pub.

Re: looking for the name of this A major jig

The Spotted Dog in Willesden Green, North London used to be a great and well known Irish Music house back in the 60s/70s/80s. Alas it closed down some years back. I wonder if the tune is called after it.

Re: looking for the name of this A major jig

It’s actually named after another Spotted Dog, in the Digbeth area of Birmingham. There’s still great tunes there nowadays.
