Wanted keyed flute.

Wanted keyed flute.

Hi everyone,
I would really love to buy a second hand 6keyed flute. I have been playing the flute for a few years and need a better one. If you are willing to sell yours, I would really appreciate if you could email me of post a comment below.
Thanks and regards,
Fína.

Re: Wanted keyed flute.

Hi Fina,
What are you playing at the moment

Re: Wanted keyed flute.

Hi Tommy,
I am playing a David O’Brien non keyed flute at the moment and I also play classical silver flute. However I really need to buy a keyed flute to play some decent tunes. I’ve been told by a few expert flute players that my current flute is “rubbish”!

Re: Wanted keyed flute.

With all due respect, that last sentence is extremely unfair to the makers, David Sr. and David Jr. Their current flutes, handcrafted in County Clare, are anything but “rubbish”. If you’re having a problem with yours, wouldn’t you be better off to consult the maker than to trash their work on the internet?

My guess is that they could sort out your problem, and probably add keys for you, too. I had a close look at a new O’Brien keyed flute a few weeks ago, and it was a cracker.

Re: Wanted keyed flute.

There’s a good John Gallagher 6 key for sale on Chiff and Fipple. I own an 8 key version of the same model and it is a stunning flute.

Hi Fina,

We’re sorry and surprised to hear you think the O’Brien flute which you have is rubbish. Perhaps there is something wrong with it that needs fixing. We’d be delighted to help if you get in contact with us at: obrien@traditionalirishflutes.com

Re: Wanted keyed flute.

Hi Daithi,

I got the flute serviced and it turned out there was a few things that needed fixing as the flute is quite old. The flute is an absolute joy to play now! A really lovely tone on the second octave!
