Tunepal hacking?

Tunepal hacking?

I’ve been using Tunepal for about a week. It’s the greatest thing
since Twinkies! Aside from looking up the names of tunes, I like
how you can so easily build up a portable, off line ABC tunebook.
I’ve been testing myself to see how many different tunes I can conjure up
out of my head without any prompting. I can’t remember most of
the names - or I never knew them. It looks like it will end up being about 170.

Here’s my question - has anybody figured out how to extract the
data from their personal copy of Tunepal and save a text file of
ABCs? What about sorting by title and re-inserting it? I discovered
you can drag and drop the titles into a sequence, but that’s pretty
tedious with a long list.

Why not ask the magician himself, he has a blog you can get at through tunepal.org, or com…

Re: Tunepal hacking?

On the Android version, go to My Tunes, then hit the menu button. One of the choices is Email. Just send the e-mail to yourself and you’ll have the ABC file for all of your tunes.

Re: Tunepal hacking?

You can do the same on the iPhone. Go to the Preferences tab and you will see an option to email all the tunes stored in “My Tunes”. You can email them to yourself.

On Android you can even tap on an abc file attached to an email and it will open in Tunepal. I havent figured out how to do that on IOS yet but hope to over the summer! By the way you can contact me about Tunepal through the facebook page: http://facebook.com/tunepal

Re: Tunepal hacking?

Sorry for goin a little off topic but just wondering if there is any way of going through the individual tunebooks which make up the overall tunepal database of tunes? For example the Johnny O Leary tunebook is part of the database and id like to be able to bring up just the abc’s of that collection to browse through.

I know i can limit a search to individual collections but that means you have to know the names of each tune to search

Long winded but i hope that makes sense?

Re: Tunepal hacking?

Yes, email output was good. Too bad you can’t edit and then pull them back into the app.

Re: Tunepal hacking?

Re: Tunepal hacking?

Tunepal l has never worked on my phone, so I don’t have any of these problems!!

Re: Tunepal hacking?

My phone is a Sony Xperia LT26i with Android version 4.0.4. Tunepal
works really well on it. However, I just discovered that once you have more
than 200 tunes on your list, the drag-and-drop reordering no longer works.
It must be a built in memory limit for that function.
