iPad and midi player

iPad and midi player

I just got my hands on an iPad 2 . The midi player in my tune-book does not seem to work automatically. Is there some app I should download and if there is has anyone got any recommendations ? This is my first encounter with Apple and probably the reason why I am having trouble.

Re: iPad and midi player

I have an iPhone 4. Can’t listen to midi files, either. Don’t know if there’s any solution. Sorry.

Re: iPad and midi player

I’m able to do an "Open in…" for the files into "NLog Pro", which is a synthesizer app.

Re: iPad and midi player

Thanks Deborah and Michael. I got it to work with Sweet Midi a free midi player in the App Store .

Re: iPad and midi player

Used the "Open in…." function which does not appear to work for all apps

Re: iPad and midi player

How did you get it to work with Sweet Midi Player? When I try, the app opens and nothing happens.

Re: iPad and midi player

Go to your tune book
Open up the tune you want to look at
Touch the midi Button
The screen should now say ’ tune 1035 . Midi etc. ’ and ask ‘Open in’
Touch the ‘Open In ’ button
Choose Sweet Midi app
and this should open up sweet Midi and now you choose the tune from the index.

Note this turns out to be a trial version and only plays 3/4 of the file but it enough to recognise the tune. If I was going to buy an app I would choose "NLog Pro" as mentioned above as it is cheaper.

Re: iPad and midi player

Thank you. While I got the free Sweet Midi app running as you say, I did get NLogSynth Pro and it works a treat.

Re: iPad and midi player

Addendum: NLogSynth Pro is an iPad-only app (not available for iPhone).
