Irish Mandola - made by ‘NB’

Irish Mandola - made by ‘NB’

Dear experts,
I saw an ‘Irish Octave Mandola’ for sale which looks pretty good, but the seller cannot provide a maker’s name.
The instrument has the initials ‘NB’ embossed in gold paint on the mahogany headstock, but I can’t find an Irish maker of that name or brand. Has anyone come across ‘NB’ mandolas before?

Many thanks in advance

The only NB I’ve heard of in connection with the mandola is Norman (and Nancy) Blake. Maybe the gold lettering was put there by the owner?

Could you post a link to a photo ?
On the other hand, if it looks pretty good, go by your judgement.
People often ask on here “What do you think of so-and-so’s instruments ?” If what they mean is “Are they good value”, well I think value is in the eye of the beholder. Enjoy it for what it is. Just don’t try to sell a piece of jewellery back to the shop you bought it in, as the man’s running a business. Not a charity.
