Looking for vinyl - any good sources?

Looking for vinyl - any good sources?

Hey all,

So I recently just got my first turn table and I’m looking for places online to buy records. I’ve seen that there’s some
Good stuff on eBay and amazon but I was wondering if anyone knew about other sites? Thanks for all replies and sorry of this has been asked before.

Re: Looking for vinyl - any good sources?

In my experience your best bet is to find something you want, artist and recording, and do a search. Music in the genres that are the focus of this site tend to be scattered about. I can’t think of any one source, though if you try some searches you’ll discover those online ones that work like Abe Books and Alibris, but specialising in offering the recording stock of different businesses, rather than books. Best of luck… And, of course, there’s also eBay, but be wary.

Re: Looking for vinyl - any good sources?

I’ve used Gemm Records, although not for a while. They’re a clearing house for various dealers of used records. From what I recall, they have some kind of built in guarantee. I don’t buy much vinyl these days, but I used this to track down some out of print albums I wanted. I got the second Boys of the Lough album through them, for one thing! I remember getting emails every step of the way as the individual dealers processed my orders. It went smoothly, and I had no problems. The site currently says they have 15,000,000 vinyl records, so most likely a few are Irish! Hope this helps a bit, and enjoy your new turn table!

Good one Zhenya, that was one of the clearing house like sites I was trying to remember… I’d come across it as mentioned previously, searching for one specific album and following up any positive links.
