Paolo Sopranis—metal v. celluloid grille?
When taking the grille off my red Paolo, I’m struck by the difference in clarity of sound. One thing I have noticed, however, is that the grille is covered in a thick layer of celluloid. The grey boxes have a somewhat louder, crisper, and more brassy sound. While that has to do considerably with the reeds and construction of the accordion, I was wondering if anyone thinks it has anything to do with the metal grille, or has noticed a difference in sound with different grilles on the box.
