Re: Sean Potts

RIP, Sean Potts. Your music blessed blessed my life and will always be in my heart.

Re: Sean Potts

One of my ‘mentors’, had the pleasure of sharing music and time with this gentle man, a sweetheart. Thanks for the music, the patience, the smiles, and one of the best sessions it was my pleasure to be party to. I wish we’d had more time together, but then, I do have some great recordings of you to continue the inspiration.

Re: Sean Potts

I got the opportunity to hear him at one of the old Boston College Gaelic Roots festivals, and he was a fine gentleman, and a wonderful musician. I remember in particular listening to him play a slow air, which was so beautifully rendered, it literally brought tears to my eyes.

Re: Sean Potts

His whistle playing on the early Chieftains albums was the most beautiful stuff imaginable, drag the heart right out of you it would.

Re: Sean Potts

Can anyone tell me the name of the lovely air Sean plays in the first video posted by ceolachan?

Re: Sean Potts

Thank you, Weejie!

Re: Sean Potts

I’m sad that he’s gone. I’ve never met him, but he does sound like a nice man. I wish I could’ve met him.
