Someone to play music with?

Someone to play music with?

Hi,

I live in eastern WA, and I am looking for someone to play ITM with. I play fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, and have a decent knowledge of tunes. Preferably, they don’t play above mentioned instruments, but I don’t mind if they do.

Re: Someone to play music with?

Well John,

It’s a bit faroff: if you’re ever come over to Holland, Maastricht, let me know: I’m looking for a fiddles/mandoline player anytime! ;-)

Regards, Remco

I am also looking for someone to play music with. I live in Bangor Northern Ireland, and I play bouzouki guitar and mandola. Quite amateurish but know some tunes very well.

Re: Someone to play music with?

John, I’m in the Tri-Cities. I’ve you private message through this site with my email address.

Also, the Tumbleweed Music Festival is happening in Richland this weekend. You might enjoy showing up there and just jumping into some jams or the open mic stage. The music tends towards more folk and old-time, but you’ll be able to find some Irish stuff. It’s also a chance just to meet people. http://www.3rfs.org/tmf.htm.

Re: Someone to play music with?

The Tumbleweed Festival looks like fun! I wish I had known about it sooner… will have to plan for it next year. I am in Western WA, Tacoma area.

Re: Someone to play music with?

Did you click the nearby members feature?

Also, reposting with "Looking for trad players in Eastern WA" might get you more nibbles, no?

Re: Someone to play music with?

Eastern WA is a big place - Kalgoorlie, Kununurra, or somewhere in between?

Re: Someone to play music with?

Zookyjim,

Just sent you a PM (check the messages on your profile page). I’m not that far away from you (in Ballynahinch area) and if you don’t find anything else more locally I’d be happy to meet up for some tunes. Although I’ve been learning to play the fiddle for almost 4 years I’m still not quite session standard and would also be keen to meet up with others to play some tunes, outside of the normal session environment which I may still struggle with.
