What does the abbreviation “Counr.” signify?

In the Neal Collection (Neal, John & William, eds., A Collection of the Most Celebrated Irish Tunes, Dublin, 1724) on page 10 is "Counr. MacDonoghs Lamentation." What does the abbreviation signify?

Well, it has been used as an abbreviation for "Councillor". That would be my best guess for what it means in this case as well.

… or possibly "Counsellor", maybe meaning some kind of preacher.

‘Cllr.’ is the more common abbbreviation for councillor, I think. Or is that chancellor? Or caller? Collier?
