Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

Yea, it was petty of them to just single him out like he didn’t deserve to be in the list. Very inappropriate.

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

I think it’s just that your average person on the street knows him as a dancer rather than a musician - I remember years ago being surprised when I saw a clip of him playing the flute very well.

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

Very Talented Guy whatever you may think of his personality he is also a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

I think it’s fair enough to add a comment in the list, the rest are musicians rather than dancers and he didn’t make his fortune playing flute.

As to his personality I’ve never met him so I wouldn’t comment.

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

And, I believe, a grand master at chess. He’s impressive.

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

He’s the Chuck Norris of Irish music.

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

“He’s the Chuck Norris of Irish music.”

Very good Michele

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

He has apparently released at least two CDs, “Whispering Winds”
and “On A Different Note”.

So that’s where he REALLY made his money.
That, and chess.

So there, naysayers.
😛

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

Chuck Norris can escape from checkmate.

m.d.

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

If Chuck Norris falls into a river he doesn’t get wet - the river gets Chuck Norrised.

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

We’re talking about Mr. Flatley ----
let’s stay away from the word, “river”.

We do not know where that might lead.

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

Hard shoe Irish step dance is a percussive dance form, so I think it would be reasonable to regard him as a percussionist - cue drummer jokes…

Re: Let’s give Michael Flatley his due, shall we?

His ‘’On A Different Note‘’ album is on Spotify if you fancy a listen, with tunes embedded in everything from faux reggae and soaring blues riffing to Gypsy Kings- style flamenco. There’s even a single track with no flute and only the percussion of the famous feet to tread the headphones or offer your hi-fi speakers a good kicking. It won’t be to the taste of many on the mustard board I’m sure, but he still plays (and dances for that matter) better than I do. And don’t let’s get started on Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris doesn’t step dance a slip jig, he stomps bad guys’ heads in 9/8 time.
