Sure, send ’em out and we’ll have a look.
Seriously, never heard of them until now. They look nicely machined, in the style of an MK whistle for the blade, and with a nice deep scoop on the mouthpiece.
Seems to be some discrepancies on the prices. His own website shows $230 for black.
Whistle Shop http://www.thewhistleshop.com/catalog/whistles/highend/bw/bw.html
says $140 for black.
Lark shows aluminum silver finish D for $190.
Currently seem to be bespoke, as no one shows any stock.
I own one of each. The aluminum silver finish cost me $95.00 at the time. The flat black finish cost me $140.00. Both are tunable and very comparable in sound to a Burke whistle. They have a pure, sweet sound and the second octave is easily played with just a little more push. I bought mine new directly from Gal, who makes them in Israel. Since that time the demand for these whistles and the price of these whistles has increased substantially. I suspect that Gal has a backlog of orders and is unable at this time to supply the retailers who were carrying them.
In short, Gal’s whistles are excellent and compare favorably with the best aluminum whistles on the market.
His website suggests contacting him before ordering to determine the wait time.
