Sad to see another link with the London Trad scene of the 1960s has passed on. I remember Ted playing in London in the early sixties . He was from Gurteen Co Sligo and also played fiddle alongside a 16 year old Kevin Burke in the Glenside Ceili Band in London in the mid sixties. I believe he ran a pub in Sligo……RIP.
Yes sadly Ted has passed away -the end of an era. He has done so much for Irish music. I was only chatting to him a short time ago on the occasion of his birthday in his Roisin Dubh pub and he was enjoying the music that night. Rest in Peace.
It was Tommy McGowan that played with the Glenside C/B (Teds brother)
