Johnny Bass RIP

Sad to see the demise of another old stalwart of Irish Trad. Johnny Bass from Gorey, Co Wexford. A regular visitor to the All Ireland Fleadh Ceol, John played accordion and melodion.
The Bass Family Ceii Band were well known aound Wexford, and beyond. Their CD ’ Across the Fence’ comprises 15 tracks of great music. May he rest in peace.

A lovely man. He taught my daughter a few tunes on the button accordion for a couple of years and she really enjoyed her weekly trips down to see him. Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam.
