Re: compositions of Ruaiḋrí Dall Ó Caṫáin (Rory Dall O’Cahan)

I have Port Atholl and Port Lennox as well as a tune named Port Rory Dall from the Straloch Lute Manuscript and a tune named Lilte Lady Ann Gordon from the same source, but all of these are guitar arrangements, not the original scores, so I don’t know if they would help. If you PM me with your e-mail I’ll be glad to scan them and forward them to you.

Re: compositions of Ruaiḋrí Dall Ó Caṫáin (Rory Dall O’Cahan)

I don’t recognize any of these tune titles by Ruairi Dall, but if any of them are half as good as
Tabhair dom do Labh I’d be wanting to learn them……………..

5stringfool: yes please, if you would not mind emailing me those, my email is keanebusiness@gmail.com. I’m trying to locate all those pieces of music associated with Rory. The list are those pieces I cant yet locate. I have the others and would be happy to send them in return and gratitude.

Several of your tunes appear in Dow as well as Bunting.

So, why are you looking for ancient harp tunes? Did I just do some homework for you? Or are you a historical reenactor?

As you can see, there are multiple sources for sheet music of these tunes. There are even two Rory Dalls, just to make it confusing, though apparently only one wrote tunes. Looking for these tunes threatened to send me down a rabbit hole. Have fun with these tunes. Feel free to contact me : strongerthantea at the mail that is g.
