Banjo players get their own back

Since all the pipers, fiddle players, flutists and dancers are at Willy Clancy Week, that leaves only us banjo players and a few errant bodhran beaters left on the list. So I will take advantage of the audience and ask how you set up your banjos.

Well, here is a festival at which fiddle players, flautists and dancers won’t take pride of place.

It’s just down the road from home. I’m scheming to get together a true banjo orchestra…
tenor, mandolin, uke, guitar and bass.. and all banjos.

No banjo jokes please!

It looks good Neil. I’ve always wanted to visit that part of the country. Maybe this is a good excuse to go.

Some great players on the banjo, though, eg Eamonn Coyne, Gerry O’Connor et al. They can make it sound like amusical instrument. 🙂

Leon Hunt’s playing on his new solo CD is really nice, too. McGoldrick & Flook backing him helps, admittedly 🙂
