Seeking recommendations for Seattle-area Irish flute teachers

Seeking recommendations for Seattle-area Irish flute teachers

Hi all, long time lurker, first time discussion poster. 🙂

I was emailed tonight by a guy who found me doing Google searches, because I periodically post to my blog with music geekery, and some of it’s about the flute. He wanted to know whether I knew about any Irish flute teachers in the Seattle area. I told him I did not off the top of my head, since I haven’t had to seek one out myself, and my recent lesson efforts have been for the fiddle.

Does anyone have recommendations for active Irish flute teachers in the area, who are accepting students? Alternately, are any of _you_ Irish flute teachers in the Seattle area who’d like me to pass your contact data along?

Thanks much all,
Angela (player of flute, whistle, and also newbie fiddler)

Re: Seeking recommendations for Seattle-area Irish flute teachers

Angela,
If one is looking for a flute teacher, a good place to start might be to go to the Couth Buzzard (about 83rd and Greenwood) in Seattle for the twice-monthly session there on the first and third Saturdays, 11am-1 pm. In particular, they meet tomorrow, and there are several very good flute players that show up regularly who could probably direct one to a teacher.
